The TOPS Knives Tom Brown Track #3 is a mid-sized, premium survival multi-tool blade that swaps out the traditional 1095 carbon steel for high-performance 154CM stainless steel. Designed by survival expert Tom Brown Jr. and famously originating from the film The Hunted, this version serves as the "sweet spot" in the Tracker lineup. It offers significantly enhanced corrosion resistance while maintaining the brutal chopping, scraping, and splitting capabilities of the original design.
Design Features & Functionality
- Dual-Zone Blade: The front portion of the recurve blade acts as a weighted hatchet for chopping and splitting. The lower curved section closer to the handle functions as a drawknife or carving edge for fine shaving and skinning.
- Upgraded Stainless Steel: Unlike standard 1095 carbon steel Trackers, the 154CM steel variant requires minimal maintenance against rust and humidity. Field testing shows the stainless treatment is exceptionally tough, prioritizing edge stability and pitting resistance over elasticity.
- Functional Sawback: The top spine features aggressively cut saw teeth designed primarily for creating notches, scoring wood, or creating lashing points on survival traps.
- Secure Carry Sheath: Ships with a molded black Kydex belt sheath equipped with dual rotating spring steel clips, allowing for flexible horizontal or vertical positioning.
